Mineral salts for animal nutrition
Mineral salts are used in the production of feed for both farm animals and pets. Our products find application as minerals and trace elements for enrichment as well as preservatives or acid regulators.
We offer you standard products in qualities specified by the applicable regulations on animal nutrition. Furthermore, our product range comprises products and product variants specially developed and optimized according to customer requirements. In cooperation with our customers, we adapt the chemical and physical parameters of a product to specific customer requirements.
Variable parameters of our products can be, for example:
- Bulk density
- Wettability
- Particle size
- Purity
- pH-value
Particle size
It depends to a great extent on the physical properties of a mineral salt, e.g. the particle size, whether it is suitable for a particular field of application. We are able to produce granulate qualities with an average particle size of one millimeter. These granulates allow for a dust-free flow of the product as well as for shorter dissolution times during the dissolving process. We offer fine-ground and ultra-fine ground as well as micronized powders with a highly magnified surface which in many applications are clearly superior to other conventional powders.
Microencapsulated mineral salts
Microencapsulated mineral salts – especially iron, copper and zinc – are used in an animal nutrition product whenever a decrease in taste quality by oxidation or interactions with other ingredients must be avoided. This is done by enclosing each mineral particle in a homogeneous protective coating by means of vegetable oil.
Dr. Paul Lohmann® supplies microencapsulated products in various qualities specific to the requested application.
